No magic - just our painstaking joint work on the site

An outdated website with obsolete design and technical limitations doesn’t just hurt a company’s image — it can actively hold back business growth. Maintaining and patching such a site may work for a while, but it’s rarely a long-term solution. In many cases, effective marketing and expansion are simply impossible without a major overhaul. That’s exactly what happened with the Coffee Proffee website.
The redesign and migration to Sprava’s proprietary CMS made the platform faster, more user-friendly, and far more adaptable — for both the client’s team and its customers. Here’s how the project evolved, what challenges we encountered, and how we solved them.
Coffee Proffee: Professional Coffee Equipment for the HoReCa Sector
Coffee Proffee specializes in selling new and pre-owned coffee equipment — espresso machines, grinders, barista accessories, spare parts, and cleaning products. Operating in the B2B segment, the company also offers equipment servicing and professional consultations. Their showroom is located in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and they ship products nationwide.
Client’s Challenges, Goals, and Objectives
Coffee Proffee, a long-time partner of Sprava Agency, had been operating on an outdated version of OpenCart. The main issue was that the old platform’s technical limitations prevented innovation, while the outdated design damaged the brand’s image and complicated SEO promotion efforts. Over time, the site’s technology stack became obsolete.
We supported and optimized the existing site for as long as possible — but it became clear that a complete rebuild was the only viable path forward. The client’s primary expectations were:
- a modern, professional design;
- a user-friendly admin panel;
- and high-speed performance.
We proposed a comprehensive «turnkey» solution that included a fully custom design and complete redevelopment on Sprava’s proprietary CMS.
Project Scope and Development Process
- UX Research and Custom Design. We began with a deep analysis of the old website to understand its logic and business workflows. Based on that, we designed a new custom interface from scratch, paying special attention to product pages — making them more informative, structured, and visually engaging.
- Development on Sprava CMS. The new CMS had to deliver speed, security, and ease of content management. One of the main challenges was to recreate the client’s familiar order processing logic so that the Coffee Proffee team could work comfortably in the new environment without changing their internal processes.
- Data Migration. We imported a product catalog of around 3,000 SKUs from the old OpenCart version. This turned out to be a complex task — many records were incomplete or inconsistently formatted. Before import, we had to clean and structure the data to fit the new design and system requirements. Each product card required detailed, well-organized technical information to make the catalog useful and appealing.
Additionally, the previous site had several custom-built order management mechanisms, which we needed to replicate accurately on the new platform.
Several key approaches helped us ensure a smooth transition:
- Automated + Manual Data Processing: We developed custom scripts to extract, clean, and reformat data from the old database. However, part of the data still required manual review to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Detailed Business Process Decomposition: We conducted several in-depth interviews with the client to map out every step of their sales and order handling processes. This helped us accurately reproduce essential functions in the new CMS while keeping the workflow intuitive for their team.
- Dedicated Product Card Development Stage: We treated product cards as a separate design phase — prototyping, testing, and refining them across various product groups until the client was fully satisfied.
The full project duration was five months.
Results and Achievements
As a result of our collaboration, Coffee Proffee received a modern, fast, and visually appealing eCommerce website that fully met their business goals.
All the limitations of the old platform that hindered growth and SEO performance were removed.
The new admin panel now allows Coffee Proffee staff to easily manage content, products, and orders. Moreover, the new technical foundation provides a solid base for long-term SEO growth.
Before the redesign, the site already ranked strongly — 85% of key queries were in the Top 10, and professional equipment keywords held stable Top 3 positions. Our task was to preserve those rankings, and we succeeded. While dramatic ranking growth wasn’t expected, traffic and engagement improved noticeably.
- Pageviews increased by 22.83%;
- Engaged sessions grew by 18.63%;
- Successful form submissions skyrocketed by 3,821%.
The redesigned website became far more engaging for visitors. Previously, most sales came from spare parts — but after launch, orders for professional equipment began increasing as well.
Every website eventually becomes outdated. Sometimes, incremental updates aren’t enough — what’s needed is a full redevelopment: migration to a new platform, a redesigned interface, and a more modern architecture.
When doing this, it’s crucial to preserve the company’s business logic, account for niche specifics, and create room for future growth. A properly executed migration provides a powerful boost for long-term development.
