No magic - just our painstaking joint work on the site
Effective promotion of niche products can be held back by a range of factors - from ad setup mistakes to limited website capabilities. When campaigns fall short of the expected sales volume and every order costs too much, it's time to bring in specialists. In this case study, we share how optimizing targeted advertising and building a new website helped the Berserk project double its purchase volume while cutting the cost per purchase for the client.
Project Overview and Client Request
The client sells Berserk energy chewing gum, manufactured in Sweden. The product offers a fast, compact alternative to coffee and liquid energy drinks.
Before reaching out to Sprava Agency, the client already had a website and was running targeted ads independently. However, the results weren't satisfying: the cost per sale stayed high, and the number of orders wasn't enough to reach the desired profit level. Attempts to optimize campaigns in-house brought no meaningful improvement. Repeated ad account blocks kept halting ad delivery, disrupting budget planning, and driving costs up even further.
The client came to us with a clear request - lower the cost per sale, increase the number of orders, and ensure stable performance of the ad account. In our view, the issue wasn't limited to the ad settings - it also involved the website itself, which was built on Weblium. This builder is convenient for a quick start, but it comes with limitations that hold back a project's growth: restricted layout flexibility, slow page load speed, and the inability to update the design without a major overhaul of the site's structure.
Our specialists decided to first improve ad performance on the existing website, then build a new site on a CMS that would remove the technical constraints and strengthen the results of the advertising.
What We Did
Work on the project followed this approach:
- We audited the existing ad campaigns and identified weak points in targeting and creatives.
- We analyzed the audiences in detail and began testing new advertising approaches.
- We identified the limitations of the old website and built a new one that lets the client manage content and page structure independently.
- We updated the site design to meet modern UX standards, making the user journey from ad click to purchase clearer.
- We relaunched the ad campaigns on the new website and scaled budgets based on improved conversion metrics.
Throughout the process, we tracked behavioral metrics and promptly adjusted ad settings and site elements wherever users were dropping off.
On the new website, we implemented solutions that work directly to boost conversion and build user trust:
- fast checkout - a modal window with quantity selection and instant transition to purchase;
- bundle offers with discounts, which increase the average order value;
- a "Who It's For" block, letting potential buyers see themselves in a usage scenario;
- a detailed block on ingredients and how the product works, plus an FAQ to address safety concerns;
- a customer review block as social proof;
- cash on delivery and multiple contact channels (Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, phone call);
- a dedicated block for bulk and volunteer orders as an additional B2B sales channel.
These elements reinforce the impact of the advertising. A user who clicks the ad lands on a page that immediately addresses the main objections and leads straight to a fast purchase.
Results of Our Collaboration with the Client
Performance began improving right after we revised the audience structure, ad settings, and creatives. Once the new website launched, results grew even further:
- the average cost per purchase dropped by approximately 17%;
- the number of orders doubled.
Behavioral metrics also improved - time on site, browsing depth, and bounce rate.
